Accessibility: a cultural commitment

Digital accessibility is a key part of Fondazione Pistoia Musei’s cultural vision, aimed at making art, history, and knowledge a shared heritage for everyone.

We are committed to ensuring that our digital content is designed and developed to be accessible, in line with the values of participation and inclusion that inspire all our activities.

Creating an accessible digital environment means enabling as many people as possible to navigate, understand, engage, and explore—offering a simple and welcoming online experience for visitors, researchers, students, and citizens alike.

Every improvement that enhances the accessibility of our digital tools also strengthens our mission to promote and preserve cultural heritage.

What we are doing

In line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), we are working across three key areas—design, content, and code—to make our websites and digital services increasingly accessible.

We are committed to:

  • following the WCAG 2.1 Guidelines from the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium)
  • progressively updating the sections and functionalities of our website
  • integrating innovative technological solutions that support accessibility
  • collecting user feedback and reports as part of a continuous improvement process
